My computer speakers sometimes output statics for music. What is wrong and how can this be corrected?

Posted by admin on June 26th, 2010 and filed under computer speakers | 1 Comment »

UsualIy I receive music from my computer speakers but occasionally, I receive statics instead. What is wrong and how can this be corrected?

It could be the volume the music is playing is too much for the speakers. Lower volume would help this. You could also test the speakers on something else to see if you get static there as well. Also make sure the the wiring and connections are good. Sometimes a pinched wire will be the cause.
It could also be that the sound processor in the computer is not able to handle more complex sounds. The only way to help that is to install a quality sound card. You’re probably using the on-board sound that came with the computer. Those are really basic.
Without being able to hear the static you’re talking about, it’s hard to judge.

What are some methods of connecting a computer to non computer speakers?

Posted by admin on June 22nd, 2010 and filed under computer speakers | 1 Comment »

Hello,

I am in the works of making a nice home theater setup. I am working on a projector, I have some above average computer speakers that I feel could be easily and cheaply replaced. I imagine acquiring some sort of receiver that would connect to a computer some how, and than from the receiver to the speakers. On the back of my PC I have 3.5 inch jacks, and two others, one is orange and one is grey. I the two ‘others’ are s-pdif or something to do with digital.

You’ll need an adapter cable:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=3.5mm+to+rca&aq=2&oq=3.5mm+&aqi=g10

plug the cable into the PC audio out jack and the other two RCA jacks into the receiver AUX (or similar) jacks.

Why is my computer speakers playing the radio even though i have headphones plugged in?

Posted by admin on June 19th, 2010 and filed under computer speakers | 1 Comment »

I have headphones plugged into my computer so no sound should be coming out of the speakers. Yet when the speakers are on, I can hear my local radio station playing through the speakers. It plays really softly just barely audible, but it’s still weird.

I guess I can just turn off my speakers, but I’d still like to know why this happens.

Sounds strange to me.

How do you connect computer speakers with a stereo?

Posted by admin on June 17th, 2010 and filed under computer speakers | 3 Comments »

I just received a pair of speakers for my computer but I have a stereo that I’ve been using for my computer. Is there a way to connect the computer speakers to my stereo and to my computer so sound comes out both the stereo and comp speakers?

If your computer only has one audio output, get a splitter – something like this:

How do I add new speakers to my computer and get them to work?

Posted by admin on June 14th, 2010 and filed under computer speakers | 2 Comments »

I used to have two normal computer speakers with a left and a right. Now I have new ones and are not working properly. All speakers work, because I plugged them into my mp3 player and they were fine. But when I plugged them into my computer, only the left one worked. The subwoofer doesnt work and neither does the right one. How do I configure my computer ( windows xp ) to work with the new speakers. I checked sound effects on control panel and could figure nothing out. Please help.
I tried the quadraphic and surround sound. Didnt work. What other settings can i configure to make the speakers work?

plug in the cable to the soundcard and open the sound and device property, go into speaker setting (at the bottom), and then click advance, speaker setup. and then select your speaker. try quadraphonic speaker or surround speaker.

Hard Drive Speakers, as computer speakers

Posted by admin on June 9th, 2010 and filed under computer speakers | 16 Comments »

Modified hard disk drives to operate as computer speakers. Then the amplifier for an older pair of speakers was used to power the new computer speakers.

The heads don’t visibly move on these like other speakers on youtube. The heads have been bent into the platters and then partially covered to create a more “normal” sound.

Is there an adapter that will allow my computer speakers to connect to my tv that has digital audio?

Posted by admin on June 9th, 2010 and filed under computer speakers | 1 Comment »

I dont know the terms so I’ll try my best to explain. I have these speakers and subwoofer that are made for connection to a computer. The speakers connect to the sub, and there’s one cable that connects to the audio port on my laptop. I have an "adapter" that allows me to connect that cable to my dvd player. So I can watch movies (or play videogames) on my tv while using the speakers, however, when I’m watching television channels, the speakers dont work.

Is there some kind of adapter that will allow me to hook that audio cable to digital output on my tv? Thanks.

yes what you need is an output jack to an rca cable. its what i used to hook up my computer to my tv
