I recently added outdoor speakers to my surround sound system. I have a Samsung system, but it doesn’t appear to have a two-channel system. Any suggestions on how to switch between my indoor and outdoor speakers? I only want my outdoor speakers to work when I am listening to the radio or cd. I don’t wany my neighbors listening to the movies or tv stations that I am watching.

You may have to try a speaker selection box to switch between your front speakers and your outdoors. The box is inexpensive and splits the one speaker output between your indoor and outdoor speakers with a button control. Try an electronics stores or a big AV retailer… Hope this helps…

I am getting a new car and want a complete sound system with navigation subs speakers and amps. I dont want it to be overly loud i just want really good sound quality and if it can bump also then so be it. My question is should I go to a car audio store and tell them that and see what they suggest or should i try to piece my system together myself?
also how much would something like this cost me?

well first most people think adding a sub will change the whole sound but sometimes the speakers already there suck, blown, not loud enough. first step to getting a better sound system is getting a component set up. separate you high from your lows. alot of cars now have component speakers but the speakers are weak. if your car has tweeters then your already inset you can change out the door speaker and replace the tweeters. i would go with JL if you have the money. if your looking to get more bass i would go with a JL w1 or or w3 sub. then amps very with brand and quality. also you want nav. your whole package will be over 700 you can get alot of good stuff for about 1000 to 1400. it all depends on what you buy like the guy above said.

I was there when jesus came down from the cross…
everyone was just standin’ round like idiots….

These are the things that u can’t explain
killing all of what’s makin’ u ok
shouldn’t be that way.

so this is how to talk when you speak to angels
dreamin’ while you walk with chimin’ bangles yeah
i could see it tonight….

This is what they say when they tell the storya cold hearts waitin for a moments glory
I….
guess I don’t knew why…
they’re always singin’

My love will take u higher
My heart is still on fire yeah…
wanna hear u say

Your love can take this higher
to everything that you desire yeah….
wanna hear you say

tell me babe are you feelin’ down givin’ up your hope
sure i know that these feelins’ they won’t let you go….

these sort of things shouldn’t block your way

Recently, I purchased surround sound speakers, for 5.1 surround sound (Durabrand @ $40). Although I do like the sound quality that these speakers produce, I feel that there are better sound systems out there. I would appreciate any advice on what to look for when buying a home theater sound system; one that delivers the kind of sound quality that I’m sure movie and DVD makers intend to be delivered. Thank you.

Dang Romez awesome answer.

Might I add THD, THD, THD!
THD should be the first thing to look at, it’s the single most important rating an an amplifier, or a receiver. Digital audio, fiber optics & $10,000 speakers don’t mean spit if the amplifier, or receiver is sending too much distortion to the speakers.

An amplifier, or receiver should have a THD rating of 0.05% THD @ 20 Hz – 20 KHz or less. You should never buy an amplifier or receiver that has a THD rating of 0.1% THD @ 20 Hz – 20 KHz or more.

Don’t worry about how many watts a surround sound receiver puts out, there isn’t enough difference between surround sound receivers’ wattage output to even look at what the wattage output of a surround sound receiver.

Only buy Bose for the prestige of having the Bose label, because that’s what you are paying for. Anything of equal sound quality to Bose is priced a lot cheaper than Bose is priced & will still be going strong long after Bose has either died & been thrown away, or has been repaired, or rebuilt at least 2 or 3 times.

Buy speakers with your ears. Nobody can tell you what speaker sounds best. What one person thinks sounds good, anther person may think sounds bad.

If you’re blowing speakers it’s not because you have an awesome amplifier that’s putting out so many watts that you’re blowing speakers left & right. It’s because you have a piece of junk amplifier that’s clipping so bad it’s blowing speakers left and right.

Monster cables are good cables, but Monster is way over priced. You can buy as good & even better for less.

Don’t hook up $10,000 worth of AV equipment to a $5 or $20 power strip & expect it to do any good at protecting your equipment. You need to buy a real surge protector (power conditioner / voltage regulator) that’s designed for protecting electronics. They can be found in computer stores, music stores & high end audio dealers & cost between $80 & $1,000+. You should be able to find a good that suits your needs for under $200.

Surround sound is for TV, music sounds best in stereo. If you want to listen to music switch from surround sound mode to stereo mode… or even better yet, do your ears a favor listen to music on a real stereo system instead of a home theater sound system.

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado with a fiberglass tonneau cover, and I want to know if I can put a sound system under it. Thanks.

well anything is possible but I am not sure it is smart to do that without some sort of water proof cover over the entire rear setup, isolated from the tonneau cover itself. Because I am not sure exactly the type of cover you have but some times when you life certain models they drain the water in a way where it could ruin equipment. Plus the sound quality would suffer because of the separate compartments.

If you are just looking to mount subwoofers in an enclosure a more practical solution is looking into shallow mount subwoofers. Pioneer and Memphis have a great selection. These will allow for your totally enclosure to be small enough to mount under your seats. A custom shop should be able to build the enclosure for you.

Im getting a toyota tacoma, and im wanting to put a sound system in it, with good quality sound. Im wondering what type and what size speakers i should get and what amp to go along with it?

If you’re new to car audio, you probably dont know something that you should. JL Audio makes the best of everything. Speakers, amps, subs, crossovers, EVERYTHING. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

I’d go with some nice 10" subs to go underneath the seats or behind the rear seats. JL w3s are VERY good speakers. You could get a nice $150 alpine deck and a kenwood amp for around $500 total.

email me with questions
good luck
