What is the difference between surround speakers and regular?

Posted by admin on July 11th, 2010 and filed under surround | 2 Comments »

Is it the speaker itself or the audio channel it’s connected to?
In other words can any speaker be connected to the surround channel?
Thanks in advance

Ideally they are identical.

Back in the ProLogic days there was 1 channel for the rear which was split to the 2 speakers. Dolby told sound engineers to only put diffuse sounds (wind, rain, rumbles) to these speakers and recommended the use of dipole speakers or speakers turned to bounce sound off the wall to help hide the location.

Dolby Digital 5.1 changed all that. Each rear speaker gets a separate channel of sound and sound engineers WANT to draw your attention to the specific speaker.

Since they are making sounds swirl around now – ideally all your 5 or 7 speakers are identical to tone-match.

How can I alter my surround setup to rotate 90 degrees?

Posted by admin on July 5th, 2010 and filed under surround | 1 Comment »

I have a PC and consoles connected to surround sound, but the displays are on adjacent walls at a 90. I want to listen to music at the PC in stereo but when I go to play a game on the tv all the central sounds come from the right, where the front L+R speaks are. Is there a software-based or otherwise way to edit speaker output? My reciever is too old to feature this

If all the speakers are the same, you can just rearrange the connections. Plug the Right Front and Side speakers (or Left, whichever pair is on the wall the screen is set up) to the front right and left outputs.
Games don’t have speaker matrix features.

What pokemon team should i surround bulbasaur in pokemon fire red version?

What pokemon team should i surround bulbasaur in pokemon fire red version? I just beat the first gym and i only no im getting growlithe and diglet. What other pokemon should i catch for a six team pokemon?

I ALWAYS choose Bulbasaur! You are a smart Master my friend!
Considering Bulbasaur is a Poison and a Grass Type you have an advantage with it.

I would go with Growlithe for your fire type. You can find it on Route 7 and 8. Also, check the Pokemon Mansion.

Pikachu is a nice choice for an electric type because along with Growlithe, it can learn ground moves. Pikachu can learn a lot of fighting moves as well. Especially when it evolves. Its rare, but they are ALWAYS found at the Power Plant, and in the Viridian Forest.

Catch a CATERPIE and raise it up to a Butterfree. NEVER catch a Metapod because it is much to hard to train. It can learn Psychic moves along with flying and poison/grass moves. :) Those are obviously in the Viridian Forest!

Seel is MY favorite Water Type because they are just very cute and they can learn Ice and Fighting moves. They are a common sight at the Seafoam Islands.

That would be a GREAT team of 6 for you! :D

BELOW IS THE MOST HELPFUL SITE EVER! I HOPE IT DOES YOU SOME GOOD! ;)

How do you get caulking off a tub surround?

Posted by admin on June 30th, 2010 and filed under surround | 5 Comments »

The previous owner of my RV did a sloppy job and got caulking all over the edge of the tub surround and it looks kinda bad. Any ideas to get it off without damaging the tub surround would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on what your tub is made of, you can use a razor blade. If not, get a heavy duty scub brush and vigorously scrubbing the caulk will cause it to separate from the tub. You can then peal a lot of it off with your fingers, and any leftover peices can be removed with caulk remover – which you can find at Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc.

What is the best wireless surround sound system?

Posted by admin on June 28th, 2010 and filed under surround | 1 Comment »

I am looking for a surround sound system that does not have a lot of wires, and that I can have speakers that are wireless. My budget is is around $500, and I really want the best for my money.

Thanks!

To be honest, wireless is never going to be as good as wired. Wireless speakers still require a wire for power so you might as well use regular speakers. You’ll get much more for your money at a much greater fidelity.
