Thanks, I’ll give best answer to whoever tells me the most about my racket!

Well, no good tennis racket is "made" for either gender.

This racket is quite good, and pretty expensive. It is part of the o3 family of rackets, so it is quite technologically advanced.

Go here:

It will tell you everything you need to know about your racket and what technology it has.

Catching your racket after hitting a topspin tennis forehand and as you follow through is largely a stylistic choice. In some cases, catching the racket can help correct certain errors in your strokes. That said, there are times when it is inappropriate to try to catch the tennis racket on your follow through. The lower you follow through, the less appropriate it is to try and catch the racket. Thus, on a windshield wiper forehand (a shot with a lot of topspin) it’s not advisable to try and catch the racket.

I have a tennis racket that i want to make lighter so it’s more powerful (as i saw on other websites say,) and i want to know how to do it. Also i saw on like prince of tennis how they have grip tape. Do you just use like duct tape to do it or what because my grip is peeling and i can’t go to a store to fix it. Thanks.

There’s a few things you need to realize about tennis that pertain to this question.

First of all, you should create the power that you need through your own form. Only depend on the racquet to be powerful if you can’t create your own. Many people mistakenly think that light racquets are better than heavy racquets. However, I usually tell people to buy as heavy a racquet as they can handle without it being cumbersome. Heavier racquets really are better in the long run for most people.

Second, you can’t remove weight from a racquet. That would require removing actual material of the racquet. Believe me, the companies don’t use any more material than they need in order to make the racquet they want.

You can add weight using lead tape, though. If you think you want to do this, ask a question about it, because the method of applying lead tape is kind of involved.

As for the grip, you can to one of two things. Buy a replacement grip or buy an overgrip. The replacement grip actually replaces the grip on the racquet. You’ll have to remove what is currently there, and replace it.
The overgrip can go right on top of what already exists, but it wears down faster than a regular grip. When you replace a worn out overgrip, you’ll remove the old overgrip but leave the regular grip. And no, duct tape would not work for this.

I took it to a shop and they were going to try to shave it down to make it smaller, but they couldn’t. The babolat SmartGrip is built into my racket but i don’t like it, i much prefer playing with a normal grip.. I wondered if anyone else had this problem and if anyone had any ideas of trying to fix it?

Thanks

The racquets made nowadays can not be shaved down. I would sell it on ebay, and buy one with the grip size you want.

My Head liquid metal 4 tennis racket has a large horizontal crack on the bridge of the racket. There is not a gap in the crack yet, but when i swing it, it creaks a little. Is it possible to have this racket fixed? If yes, would it be expensive?

A crack anywhere on the rim or bridge can alter the ball’s travel. It is not really possible to fix a racquet’s rim but, if you are playing as a hobby and not in a tournament or any other serious match, it shoudn’t be much concern. However, if you are a serious tennis player, the best option is to replace the racquet so it does not ruin your shots. Eventually, it is going to break as you continue to hit. The only fixable part of a racquet is the string.

You can learn on a cheap racket but if you do want to continue, you should find a good racket that will suite your game. You also need tennis shoe. Something around 35-70 will do.

Details:
-I’m a High School athlete
-I don’t need a pro racket
-max i will spend is $75

I was thinking my local Sports Authority would be a good place to so so I can get a feel for the rackets. Any other good specialty stores? I probably don’t want to buy online because I can’t get a fee for the racket before i buy. Thanks in advance.

I would go with the HEAD liquidmetal 4 (64.95) or the HEAD liquidmetal radical mp or os (69.95)
the hard part is finding them at a store. you can find them online at tenniswarehouse.com but you didn’t want anything online so…a good place is tennis express. i don’t know where you are but it’s in Houston…and tennis express is houston’s leading tennis supplier. it’s not like sports authority or academy with all kinds of sports…all they have is tennis so it’s a good store. they also have a demo program. search it on google i think they have a website but it’s not much of a help when buying stuff. good luck

Salvation Army 50 cent tennis racket &
a few hours of time were all that was
mylar super-glued & stapled to racquet rim.
Head is tensioned by a very simple ring of
1/8″ plywood from an old door, pushed tight
with ten small blocks of wood. This tensions
the mylar so nicely that it doesn’t come anywhere
near hitting the racquet’s cross-strings.
Playing Strings are simply two gauges of fishing
line. 5th string is accomplished by “shorting-out”
the string with a couple of brads.
This is a three-string banjo. All 3tuning gears
won’t fit on the peghead end, so I put two
of them at the opposite end (near the bridge)
Works fine. Construction article forthcoming
soon on my webpage: www.DennisHavlena.com
