How do I prevent blisters from my tennis racket?

Posted by admin on June 26th, 2010 and filed under tennis racket | 9 Comments »

I play tennis, and I always get blisters on my thumb from where I hold my racket. Is there anything I can do to not get blisters on my thumb?

why not try, well at least first, to change the rubber grip to a softer one. then if it fails, follow what should be done, change your grip often.

Tennis Serve Racket Drop

The sixth step of the tennis serve is the racket drop. It’s the first part of your forward swing up to the tennis ball. This video only focuses on what the upper body is doing. From the trophy pose, the tennis racket drops straight down behind your back like it is pointed at the tennis court. Also, the tossing arm drops down (just let gravity do the work). The racket drop is sometimes called “the scratch-back position” because it looks very similar to trying to scratch your back with the tennis racket.

How do you choose a tennis racket?

Posted by admin on June 22nd, 2010 and filed under tennis racket | 8 Comments »

I am trying tennis and I know that there are certain rackets for Special fuctions. I don’t know what to buy. How do I choose the right racket for me? Do I have to buy an expensive one? Does anyone have any tips?

There are many scientific ways of choosing a tennis raquet but really the best way is to ty it out. Often shops will let you try them for a few days and if you’ve got coach he’ll let you try them. It’s often very handy to use the coaches experience – s/he knows your level and capacity and can sometimes get discounts for you.

To know where to go in the first place ask for some advice or look around. The popular ones are going to be around the place more. If you play in tournaments try out the raquet most people seem to have.

Choose the raquet that feels best. The one that when you plays feels like you hitting more consistnetly and harder than ever before.

You don’t HAVE to go for an expensive one, it depends on your age (groing child or adult) and how good you are. Sometimes the strigs that you have in the raquet also make a big difference.

Good luck!

What tennis racket should i buy for highschool?

Alright, i played football for 2 years in highschool and now its my senior year and me and my friends are gonna do tennis for fun, ive played a couple times and its fun, just dont know what racket to buy i want a pretty decent one im about 6′1 and 295, and lift and all that so i dont think weight of the racket would matter, im very competitive thats why i want a pretty good racket, around 100$ or so, thanks.

Well, based on how you described yourself, it sounds like you need a good racquet that’s not too advanced.
I would say something like the Wilson K Fury would be a good racquet. It’s around the price range you described and it’s a fairly good racquet.
But you should go demo some racquets at your local tennis shop to find one you like. You could also browse for racquets on tenniswarehouse.com.

What is that supposedly revolutionary tennis racket that came out a few years ago?

Posted by admin on June 17th, 2010 and filed under tennis racket | 1 Comment »

It had a weird T-shaped protrusion from the neck of the racket that connected to the vertical strings in such a way that the strings were not directly attached to the frame at the bottom of the head. Supposedly this provided more power or something. I believe I read about this unusual tennis racket in Popular Science or Popular Mechanics or some magazine like this. What was that tennis racket?

Was it this one?

I feel like Head might have made something similar at some point, too. Don’t recall the name, or if I’m even right about that though.

My son, 16 years of age is interested to join in the lawn tennis offered as one of their school activities. What should I buy for him as a starter. How much doe a good quality racket cost?
Please advise.

Then just look under "rackets". I would recommend the Babolat Pure Drive (used by Andy Roddick), or the Babolat AeroPro Drive with Cortex (used by Rafael Nadal). I recommend Babolat rackets all the time. They cost around $185-200 for one racket. Totally worth it! But you can also buy the same type of racket but they are junior rackets, which cost about $100.

How do I know which tennis racket is right for me?

Posted by admin on June 9th, 2010 and filed under tennis racket | 1 Comment »

There are so many options of tennis rackets and I’m about to start playing tennis and I need help figuring out which racket is right for me. I want to get a good racket so please help me! So what do you think would be a good racket for beginners? I know there are all these things that have to do with the rackets such as the length of it and stuff but I’m confused!! Please help thanks!

If you of adult height you can go for an adult racquet. Brand issues are tricky as are styles with in a brand. Let’s consider your body height and shape – if you are slim or slightly heavier, tall or shorter etc. If you start with a good coach it is likely that he/she will have a few racquets for you to use in the first couple of lessons, after that, try to find a Tennis Specialist Retail shop that will allow you to take some demo racquets. Take them to your lesson and let the coach see how you play with each different one. You may be a beginner but still one will feel better than the others and that is the one you buy. Don’t let your friends or family tell you which you should have because at the end of the day it’s you on the end of it. Your power and strength, your tecnique, your style. However good bad or indifferent it might be. Just have fun!! If you are in Sydney, Australia, you can try The Merchant of Tennis in Beecroft. www.merchantoftennis.com.au – or ph: 61-2-9484 9113
