My PS3 set-up/Home Theater set-up/Logitech Harmony 1100/Blu Ray/DVD/Xbox 360/Wii/ HD Projector???

Posted by admin on July 20th, 2010 and filed under home theatre | 25 Comments »

This is my home theater setup aka the man cave. Imma HUGE HUGE sports fan (go falcons!) so this room is dedicated to sports. I have the 65″ inch hdtv, and three 32″inch lcd tvs on top of that. This way, with nfl sunday ticket or nba league pass, I can watch all the games at once without missing a thing. Or I watch multiple sports all at one time. Mounted to the ceiling, I have a motorized 120″ inch projector screen 16:9 which comes down for the big sunday and monday nite football games, or when a big boxing or ufc fight is on. Now the components. Playstation 3, xbox 360, Wii, Pioneer surround sound,
5 Directv boxes, 3 lcd tvs, 65″ hdtv, universal remote, and a optima DLP projector. Im not really a gamer, I use to PS3 to watch blu ray movies, and I only play the 360 for madden football. I also have subwoofers underneath my couch for the full theater experience. The whole theater is controlled by my logitech harmony 1100 touch screen universal remote which can control pretty much anything.

*****READ FIRST*****
TURN ANNOTATIONS ON. HEADPHONES WILL NOT WORK BY PLUGGING BOTH ENDS INTO THE SOUND CARD. MIC JACK INTO THE USB SOUND CARD, AUDIO JACK INTO THE TV’S 3.5MM AUDIO OUTPUT JACK.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, READ THROUGH THE COMMENTS FIRST BECAUSE ITS LIKELY THAT THE QUESTION HAS ALREADY BEEN ASNWERED IN THE COMMENTS.

Showing you how you can get surround sound headphones working on your ps3. Also showing how to use the built in microphone to work via USB sound card.

***********************
I have tested these headphones in COD 5, COD 4, Killzone 2. The surround sound works perfectly with all of them. You can hear people sneaking up on you.

I did the majority of the work myself. The Theater is double drywalled with two sheets of 5/8″ drywall with Green Glue http://www.greengluecompany.com between each sheet of drywall and insulation stuffed in all the walls and ceiling. All the walls and the ceiling are isolated using products from http://www.pac-intl.com The front stage is completely filled with sand and I use a Biometric Fingerprint Door Lock for access to the Theater.

Dream DIY Home Theater Room Design Video

Posted by admin on May 5th, 2010 and filed under home theatre | 25 Comments »

I surprised my husband with this media room featuring 100″ screen. Inspired by the style of HGTV designer Candice Olson, I did the work myself on a much smaller DIY budget. Complete shopping list here: http://www.ratemyfavoritespaces.com/2009/06/my-dream-diy-media-room.html

Details: Panasonic AE3000U 1080P projector, Denon 1909 AV Receiver, Aperion 7.1 cherry speakers/SW, Stewart Firehawk 100″ screen, PS3, DirecTV HD DVR, Apple TV, VUDU, Slingbox HD Pro, Harmony 890 remote, BDI cherry cabinet. Brown wall color is Sherwin Williams’ “Toasty” in flat finish.

If you need reinforcement with the wife or SO, email me. Tell them American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, HGTV, Food Network ALSO look amazing in 1080p. (With a Harmony remote, she can operate the theater too.)

Thanks for watching! Please note: The lights were on for shooting this video, but not when we watch TV or movies.
