Tennis Racquet Stringing 1: Mounting The Racquet

Posted by admin on June 1st, 2010 and filed under wilson ncode | 25 Comments »

This video shows how to mount a racquet on a Gamma X-2 Stringer. The procedure is quite similar to other simple two-point mounting machines.
This is my first attempt at making a video guide so do give your comments so that I can make a better revision. =)

u have to adjust the clamps such that its tight enough to hold the string but not pinch it. the number of clicks is just a rough guide once u know where yours is set.

its more of a feel kind of thing.

    Hi,

I am trying to string using Gamma Zero Thread and it’s 1.32 mm thick and when i adjust my clamps to 1 click it’s making really hard to unlock them.

How many clicks should i use on the floating clamps if the thickness is 1.32..

I think you have forgotten to put in the mounting spacers. They are black elliptical pieces of plastic with a hole in the middle. They come in pairs of thick and thin. ur suppose to slot them in the mounting screw and use them to space the screw from the frame.

You have inspired me to pick up an X-2 and learn…In some of my test runs on older racquets, I noticed some small scratching around where the racquet is mounted at head and throat, Am I mounting too tight? or is that sometimes going to happen on this machine? Great videos though, very helpful…
